What is self-discipline and why is it so important?

Self-discipline is defined as the ability to control one’s feelings and overcome one’s weaknesses.

Similar terms are self-control, restraint, self-mastery...basically just having control of what you think, say, and do.

I truly believe discipline is the key to success in all areas of life.

Discipline allows someone to be healthy and fit, to start a business and become wealthy, to do well in their career, to control their emotions when stress or conflict arises, all of which ultimately prevents further problems.

I also wanted to introduce the concept of integrity, which is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

Discipline and integrity are interconnected.

Integrity requires discipline but discipline also requires integrity.

Integrity is a characteristic that requires you to always be honest with yourself and others. It’s about doing the right thing, even if no one is watching. Doing the right thing requires willpower and discipline.

And to be disciplined, you will use integrity to do whatever it is you say you’ll do. This is self respect at its finest.

For example, you know going to workout is the right thing to do. However, if you build your discipline and integrity...you’ll go workout.

These are both SO important because they lead to happiness, confidence, and success.

Once you start taking action on the things that will improve your life, no one can stop you. You will begin respecting yourself and feeling proud of all that you can do.

Once you start improving, a ripple effect will occur. You won’t even see it coming, but eventually you’ll get to a point where you used to dream of.

If you can resist urges and instant gratification, you will go far.
